Responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive marketing plan for North America.

 

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Support Asian sales group and develop strategies to meet the business plan. 
Meet with Asian OEM customer marketing groups on a regular basis. 
Review added value marketing programs for OEM customers to include sales training and auto shows. 
Identify new business and packaging opportunities. 
Meet with regional OEM managers and coordinate dealership activities to increase volumes. 
Meet with OEM customer and advertising agencies, to assure visibility in OEM advertising, for branded audio as well as 
all HBAS products. 
Communicate with Harman Consumer and Professional divisions, review cross-promotional strategies.

Job Title: Technical Program Manager II

 

BASIC FUNCTION

 Technical Program Manager II manages cross-functional teams to introduce new audio systems for OEM automotive 
customers. 

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1.      Manage 4-8 audio system (speakers and amplifier) programs, requiring both applications and development 
engineering. Each program team should consist of no more than 17 members. Each audio system program should have an 
expected yearly gross revenue of less than $12 million.

2.      Foster positive environment to create high-achieving team: treat all members with respect, encourage 
constructive dissent, re-focus team members when they get off-track, give positive feedback whenever it is appropriate, 
maintain a positive attitude, and reallocate resources in order to meet team commitments.

3.      Define tasks to be performed by cross-functional team in developing systems. Use task list to create a work 
breakdown structure. Use work breakdown structure to establish program schedule.

4.      Follow corporate product development (or applications) process. Ensure the compliance of team members.

5.      Ensure prompt decision-making is executed by promoting consensus decisions, intervening when consensus 
decision-making fails, and making unilateral decisions in the case of a deadlock.

6.      Understand all of the technical detail of the products used in all systems, both electrical and mechanical.

7.      Approve requirements and technical solutions for meeting requirements for all development products.

8.      Lead team meetings by establishing an agenda, monitoring discussion to insure adherence to agenda, promoting a 
free exchange of ideas, challenging the pre-conceptions of team-members, finishing the meeting in a timely fashion, and 
publishing meeting minutes.

9.      Establish program budget. Manage program budget.

10.  Work with Sales, Supplier Engineering, and Design Engineering to set system cost target. Meet system cost target.

11.  Set team goals for timeliness, customer issues, and quality. Lead team to meet goals.

12.  Interact with all internal functions: design engineering, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, marketing, and 
sales. 

13.  Negotiate resource allocations from functional managers. When a resource conflict occurs, negotiate a solution 
with functional managers and other program managers.

14.  Serve as lead program interface with customer. 

15.  Identify program issues as early as possible and drive resolution at the team level. If resolution requires 
management intervention, escalate to appropriate management personnel with proposed alternatives.

16.  Review selected suppliers and quotes, and participate in supplier reviews/selection as appropriate.

17.  Coordinate and oversee ordering of prototype and production tooling.

18.  Audit task completion. Report major deviations from plan to appropriate management.

19.  Provide monthly reports in requested format.

BASIC FUNCTION: 

Responsible for Bluetooth device support for DaimlerChrysler embedded Bluetooth systems. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

Assist in determining US Bluetooth device roadmaps and supported features. Bluetooth devices include cellular phones, 
PDAs, MP3 players, any other portable Bluetooth equipped device. 
Organize Bluetooth device logistics (organize devices and software upgrades for devices) 
Tests Bluetooth devices at the system level to insure that all requirements are met and all features are supported. 
Document and validate the test results. 
Participates in internal and customer driven test reviews throughout program. 
Acting as contact person for Bluetooth device technical support for the customer.

Job Title:                                Senior Engineer, Technical Quality Planning 

 

BASIC FUNCTION: 

Responsible for planning and tracking the Technical Quality Assurance (TQA) activities in the Product Engineering Group 
in Farmington Hills while supporting development with corresponding methods, tools and procedures (quality plans, FMEA, 
DRBFM, qualification plans, quality metrics, V-model, etc.)  The members of this group will become the .Quality 
Coaches. within Product Engineering.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

 

Interface with program management function to ensure that all necessary TQA activities are included in the project 
plans and that all planned TQA activities occur.  Regularly report status of TQA activities to management. 
Interface with Qualification group to ensure that all required (planned) testing/qualification activities are scheduled 
to occur per project/quality plans.  Coordinate production qualification requirements with Qualification group so that 
all tests are defined and that product qualification can proceed per plans. 
Facilitate the execution of quality assurance activities (reviews, DFMEA/DRBFM, test planning, etc.) throughout the 
product development cycle. 
Interface with customer representatives to ensure all quality issues are resolved in a timely manner. 
Interface with other HB quality organizations to ensure all quality issues are resolved in a timely manner. 
Interface with design departments to ensure designs are capable of meeting all internal and customer requirements 
Work to improve the quality of product engineering group products and processes. 
 

 OTHER DUTIES: 

 

Provide support to production quality organization when necessary to help resolve any warranty issues assigned to 
Product Engineering.

product engineering group.  Experience with entire embedded systems product lifecycle required

-          Serve as the primary customer interface for HBAS

-          Manage and streamline customer requirements and resolve requirements issues

-          Assist customer with functional tests, debugging, and validation of prototypes

-          Assist customer with releasing products into vehicles at the subsystem and vehicle level

-          Manage the product at the customer site from sourcing to production to customer service
